Tattoo FAQ

  • Fill out my online request form! If I approve your request, you will receive access to my booking site to select a time and leave a deposit.

In the approval email, I will tell you which sort of time slot to book and whether you need an in-person consultation first.

Please note that my availability is limited, and I may decline requests that do not align with my goals or fit with my existing portfolio.

  • Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that lets me have clear access to the site you wish to be tattooed! You’re also welcome to bring a non-alcoholic drink and a snack if desired.

In addition, all clients must be at least 18 years of age and bring a valid government-issued photo ID that is legal for identification purposes.

Birth certificates, SSN cards, and student IDs are not appropriate forms of identification. Arriving to your tattoo appointment without proper identification is considered a no-show.

  • I usually clear my requests inbox on Tuesday mornings.

I occasionally do this on Wednesday or Friday morning as well, depending on my weekly schedule.

  • I look at a few different factors, but here’s a generalized overview:

    • Is this request reasonable?

    • Will it make a good tattoo?

      • Does it contain black structural linework?

      • Does the client have enough space for what they want?

      • Is the level of detail appropriate for the intended size?

      • Will this age well?

    • Does the budget fit the request?

    • Is the client looking for one of the styles I work in?

    • Has the client provided me with enough information?

    • Will I enjoy tattooing this concept? Do I like the subject matter?

  • Here’s some examples (in no specific order):

    • Video games

    • Anime

    • Magic the Gathering

    • Tabletop RPGs

    • Witchy vibes

    • Cottagecore

    • Folklore

    • Mythical creatures

    • Plants & animals

    • Cutesy things

    • Generalized nerdery

    • Weird shit

I won’t necessarily decline requests that don’t fit this list, this is just my general preference. :)

  • Please refer to my request form for all up-to-date pricing and deposit information!

  • Texts and messages through the Square app itself are the quickest ways of reaching me! I also check my email at least once per day. Clients who have an appointment on the books should have access to all 3 methods.

I only check Instagram once or twice a week, so I don’t recommend DMs.

  • I take walk-ins for small tattoos on Fridays! You are welcome to call the shop to check availability, but walk-ins are first-come, first-served.

Calling in does not constitute an appointment.
Unless you have left a deposit, you are a walk-in!

  • No hard feelings! Sometimes a certain idea isn’t up my alley, and sometimes the availability isn’t a match. If you’re curious, you’re welcome to send me an e-mail for additional details on why the request has been declined.

Otherwise, you’re welcome to submit a new request with a different idea!

Please do not submit repeat requests for tattoos I’ve already declined.

  • I only perform these services for established repeat clients who have previously booked appointments with me (not walk-ins).

    In-person consultation required.

  • While I can’t guarantee I will be available to chat with you if you come into the shop randomly, you can always stop by on Fridays (when I take walk-ins) to see if I have time for a quick chat.

Generally, the simplest process toward booking an appointment is to fill out my request form!

  • If your request is approved, send me an email and we can find a time for you to come into the shop in person and leave a cash deposit!

Please note that I am not able to hold appointment timeslots until the deposit has been made.

  • Absolutely. Our lovely counter folks can also assist with checking the balance on gift cards should you need it.

  • Almost everything, honestly; I like a variety. I do neotraditional, new school, American traditional, and illustrative fairly regularly.

You’re welcome to inquire about anything that’s not in the ‘avoid’ category below!

  • I DON’T do:

    • Ultra fine line

    • Polynesian

    • Microtattoos

    • Blackouts

    • Custom Script

    • Realism (Illustrative realism that contains linework is fine)

  • My own personal style hovers somewhere between neotraditional, new school, and illustrative, contains multiple line widths, and puts an emphasis on form. You can specify on my request form if you’re interested in my style!

  • Both! I think they both look nice. I’m happy to do either. :)

  • Yes. However, please make sure you take appropriate pictures of the coverup so I have an accurate view of what you’re trying to cover. Photos should be taken from a few feet away; you may need someone to help you take pictures.

All coverup requests I accept require an in-person consultation. Color produces better coverup results; brown, green, and purple are the most effective at covering.

Scars must be at least 2 years healed before covering.

  • I do! If you’re interested in my design catalogue, you’re welcome to swing by the shop in person to take a peek, even if I’m not there.

I am happy to do my custom flash as walk-ins on Fridays, or as scheduled appointments. I require appointments for all my unique, one-off designs.

  • Yes! Some designs are based on my flash, and I’ll tattoo them on anyone. These tend to be the smaller pieces.

Other designs are unique, and I will only tattoo them once out of respect for the client. These tend to be the larger or more elaborate pieces.

Both are clearly labeled. Check the art page or shop listing for details!

Please note I will not tattoo custom art commission work unless it’s going on the original client or explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Yes! I have experience with larger and more involved pieces.

  • I start with one larger session up front to complete all the important structural linework in one go. This is generally an all-day session with multiple hours devoted to layout and stenciling.

After the initial session, the tattoo can be worked on incrementally in smaller time blocks as desired by the client.

  • It’s the best outcome for composition, which is the most critical component of project pieces.

The goal is providing the structural blueprints for future work. The linework is not nitpicked in this stage; you can expect some of it to heal light or thin, but it will be cleaned up and refined as we continue working on the piece in later sessions.

  • Patchwork style projects like you might see in American traditional sleeves can be worked on one full piece at a time and placed as we go. These are handled a bit differently than large cohesive works that need to flow together.

  • Yes! Once we have all the linework in, we can work on individual elements to completion one by one if desired.

I just need to know what we intend to tackle for the next session so I have appropriate time to prepare.

  • At least 1 month of heal time is required to go back over previously tattooed skin.

After that, we can work on your piece as quickly as every two weeks as long as you’ve healed appropriately and we are not going over areas we touched in the last session.

  • After the piece is fully finished and healed, I offer a complimentary touch-up session to go through and tighten everything up as needed.

You also get a nifty t-shirt!
