Step 1: Consultation
Consultations are required for all project pieces. This gives the artist time to inspect the canvas, take measurements, and collect ideas from you.
BRING: Ideas for 10 different pieces of thematically cohesive subject matter. What is the underlying theme for your piece? Include style references if needed/desired.
EXPECT: The consultation will take about 30 minutes or so. Most of the subject matter will be eliminated to zero in on the best ideas. Your first appointment will be booked at the end of the consultation. -
Step 2: The First Appointment
The first session is generally the longest; it’s a full-day appointment. All the linework for your tattoo will be done during the first session.
I do not piecemeal project tattoos. The end result is always best if the structure and composition are established at the same time.
EXPECT: To be at the tattoo shop all day. The sizing and stenciling process will generally take a couple hours; I will need to draw some of it directly on you. Actual tattoo time for the session generally lands between 5-6 hours.
BRING: Snacks and something to drink. (Bananas highly recommended.)
AVOID: Large amounts of caffeine, alcohol 24 hours before your appointment, weed (except for medically relevant needs), OTC painkillers, and numbing agents (unless otherwise directed by the artist—improper application will negatively affect your heal).
-
Step 3: Continued Sessions
Continued sessions are much more flexible; we can go for as long as you like.
Work may be completed slowly and evenly across the whole piece, or focused on fully finishing smaller areas one at a time. This depends on client preference and/or needs for the specific design.
EXPECT: To wait at least one month before going over previously tattooed skin. For quickest results, finishing smaller areas one at a time will allow you to come in more often than once a month after the linework heals.
BRING: Snacks and something to drink if opting for longer sessions. Otherwise, bring them as desired.

Step 5. Complementary Session
Once the project piece has been fully completed, I offer a free complementary session to touch up any areas that need to be tightened or redefined.
Also, you get a rad t-shirt.
EXPECT: This takes place at least one month after the final session to make sure the skin is healed properly. The complementary session usually only takes a couple hours.
BRING: Snacks and something to drink, as desired.

Step 5. Photos!
After you’ve had time to heal from your complementary touch up, I would be grateful if we could set up a time for you to stop by to take some photos/videos of the healed piece!
EXPECT: To be in the shop for about 20-30 minutes.
PREPARE: Keep hydrated, both by drinking water and using moisturizer.
